What is ASETS?
The Applied Spatial Ecology and Technical Services research group was formed in 2008 as a new geospatial research program focused on
a) fostering the utilization of spatial analysis and modeling in the different aspects of basic and applied ecology through the increased engagement of faculty, staff and outside stakeholders; and
b) providing technological consultation and contractual services supporting the spatial informatics component of research, outreach and teaching. Our staff have over 100 years of combined professional geospatial analysis and data management experience.
We have developed a successful research program applying our expertise in geospatial science including GIS, data management, mobile technology, and field survey to the problems of pest management and the larger issue of invasive species management from local to national scales.
